God is Good

As the title says.......God is good.  Liam had his appointment with Dr. Albanese today and it went well.  Well the news went well but Liam on the other hand was not happy.  He ABSOLUTELY hates the saw that is used to take off the casts.  Heck he even hates the vaccume lol.  So, that really got him going.  Once the casts were off Dr. Albanese came in to look at him and lets just say Liam was NOT HAPPY.  Dr. Albanese had to stretch his feet to see how they were doing.  This hurt Liam and he was also all freaked out which didn't help the pain issue.  So aside from Liam being freaked out and in pain we have some good news.  Liam is currently sleeping in his crib with NO casts on.  Praise the Lord.  We have to take 15 minutes a day to stretch his feet out to loosen them up.  Liam hates this but it needs to be done.  Liam currently has more range of motion than his dad does lol.  We also have to get a hold of the Gavras Center to get him into physical therapy.  Once his feet are loosened up enough he will get braces to help keep them in a good position.  On our way out the door Andrew asked about the pins in his feet and Dr. Albanese said he has no pins in his feet.  We were unaware of this.  His surgery went so well that he didn't need pins.  PTL that he doesn't need to get pins removed.

When we are at his physical therapy appointment we will ask them about getting him into a pre-wheelchair so he can start moving around.  I just can't wait to see him move around at his own wille.

You can't really see a difference in his feet but we have more work to do on them.  They still have more stretching to do.

For those of you who pray for Liam:

*Please be praying for Liams knees.  You know how your joints feel when you sit for a long time and get up to move?  They hurt don't they?  Well Liams knees have been in those casts since September 14th so his knees joints are really sore.  Everytime we pick him up or move him it hurts because of his stiff joints

*Be praying for his ankles as we stretch them.  They are very sore.  If we put a blanket on them he cries so I'm sure the skin and the incision area is still tender.  It also makes him cry when they are being stretched.

Now on a happy note.  It was so cute watching him on the way home.  He was starring at his feet because he hasn't seen them in awhile. Before his surgery he could care less about his feet but now he is really aware of things.  He has finally discovered his feet.  He was also smacking his leg because it is completely different than his casts.  It is was cute.
