Update 15

Liam did amazingly on Monday with the third set of casts. Each week just seems to be getting a little easier for him to deal with getting new casts. When they were taking the casts off, his big toe got nicked by the saw and cut his toe. It didn’t cause him to get stitches but it was enough to make him bleed. I felt bad because she felt horrible about it even though it was an accident. The cotton must have worn away in that area.

We were asking Dr.Albanese about his hips and he said they are definitely dislocated but won’t do anything with them until he’s at least a year old. He also told us we don’t need to worry about his hips at all. The extra weight on his legs won’t hurt him and the bending won’t either which was a relief. But on the down side Dr.Albanese told us that the average clubbed feet require 6 castings minimum and Liam has severe clubbed feet and will require a lot more, which is depressing in a way because we just miss his little legs. We are defiantly grateful that his feet are improving but sad at the same time.

We look forward to updating you next week as he has a casting visit and a trip the the pediatricians. He will be receiving 4 shots at the pediatricians visit. Poor kid, as if he hasn’t been through enough.
Thank you for all your support and prayers. We can’t even begin to tell you how much we
appreciate it.
